About Heathrow

London Heathrow Airport is the largest and busiest airport in the United Kingdom. Heathrow is located 22km (14 mi) west of central London in the borough of Hillingdon and is the second busiest airport in the world in terms of passenger traffic. Heathrow boasts five terminals with two main runways. The airport’s main airlines are BMI, British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic.

Visitors to London can access Heathrow Airport via many different forms of transportation. The Heathrow Express train is the fastest way to access the airport with trains leaving every 15 minutes for the 15-minute journey, but Heathrow Connect and four tube stations also serve the airport. Travelers can also get to and from the airport by bus, coach, and car. Central bus stations serve all five terminals. Transport between terminals can be achieved via bus or train with local buses and the Heathrow Express and Connect transporting travelers between terminals.

Like most modern international airports, Heathrow offers a variety of shopping and eating experiences for travelers on the go. In addition to many retail outlets and a variety of restaurants, Heathrow offers several lounges to relax in and even a Be Relax massage parlor for travelers with long layovers. For travelers with extended layovers, Heathrow offers a next generation relaxation option called Yotel. Yotel offers 32 different hotel rooms with full in suite bathrooms, entertainment, and double beds or large single beds to help survive long layovers.
